Mauro Ronca

Mauro Ronca is an accomplished classically trained pianist from Italy who has turned his sights towards jazz. He has worked as an operatic pianist and coach with the ASO, Atlanta Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Julliard School. Collaborations as an operatic pianist and coach include the ASO, Atlanta Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Julliard School. Mauro studied piano, composition, organ, and conducting in the conservatory, has been a church organist since an early age, played continuo on the harpsichord in the baroque ensemble, keyboards in bands, guitar, and mandolin in a mandolin orchestra, arranged and composed original music for performances, theater plays, and the screen. He grew up listening to different music genres including jazz, but it is only very recently, thanks to this trio, that he has had a chance to grapple with jazz as a player. His aspirations are to enrich his vocabulary and become a more complete keyboardist and musician overall through this new gratifying and refreshing musical experience.
